Easy Install..
Quality brake pads..
Went 61,500 miles on OEM set, which I believe are also BOSCH..And there was about 4mm left on the front pads, 7mm on the rears..
IDK if any Passat models have an electronic brake wear sensor, which is what I assume the cable/connector is for..But I just snipped it off
right at the brake pad...The original pads had no such connector..
The guide pins and attachment bolts are the same piece..similar to a shoulder bolt, except with an internal hex socket, rather than an external one/head...I lubed the shoulder portion of the pins with Silicone grease that comes in a tube....
A Local Dealer wanted $640!!!!!!!!!! to replace the front brakes on my 2013 Passat S w/appearance package, which included replacing the rotors..
I measured the rotors with a simple tape measure and found them to be a full 1" thick still..And by eye and feedback from braking, there was NO need to replace them...
SO I saved roughly $590 doing the job myself! It took me about 35-40 minutes to do the first set of pads on the driver's side, and literally like less than 20 minutes to do the passenger side....And yes, this was my first time (I'm 50) replacing brake pads ever..
Here's a tip-Don't forget to put the dust caps for the guide pins/bolts back on! I forgot the first time, until after I had the wheel back on (you can still pop them on, it's just harder) and almost forgot again the second time...
ALSO-You will probably need a HOOK/PICK to get the plastic caps off the lug bolts...They are simply for looks and slip right off, although they look like they are nuts, as they have a torx pattern hole in the center, it's just decorative...
Also-The wheels are held on with lug bolts, not lug nuts...They are hex shaped and can be removed with an 11/16" socket....I suppose you can also use a hex/allen driver socket, but I didn't bother...
One thing I did do was to use brake cleaner, specifically on the little pathway/groove where the ears on the brake pad backing will ride...I sprayed those areas down and used a brass bristle brush to clean off the dust/dirt...In the hopes that it will reduce noise...So far, so good...
I AM concerned-The brake pads for the rear brakes are MUCH smaller than these front pads...IDK if I ordered the wrong ones (the "My Garage" applet on here says they are correct)...SO I'll have to wait and see if they are right...IF they ARE smaller, that just means we're getting screwed by VW..If it's 4 wheel disc brakes, then the calipers/pads should be exactly the same all the way around, in my opinion...!
Weird packaging...SO i ordered these AND the rear pads...And both came in a BOSCH branded box....The fronts came with the spring clips for the calipers, and a small packet of silicone grease...BUT, weirdly, to me, the brake pads were basically wrapped in a blue cloth shop towel...Very very strange..IDK if that is standard in the industry, or not..But made it seem as if I got a used set...
The rear pads were packaged exactly the same way, but without the caliper spring clips...SO maybe it IS industry standard???
Anyone else find this to be the case?
Fit fine in my 2013 Passat. Only caveat is that I needed to cut off the sensor wire because my car is a Passat, not an Audi.
Excellent value for money. Been using Bosch pads on all my vehicles for several years now, and have always been pleased with their performance!
Fit and installed without issue on 2015 Passat. Remove cable as my car didn't have brake sensor.
Although it has only been a couple of months they don't squeak and fit well on installation.

Description
Bosch Blue Disc Brake Pads were created for the everyday driver, and offers the same testing and engineering process as our premium braking line. Bosch Blue offers revolutionary engineering and advanced friction formulations for quiet and clean performance.
So far - so good. Appear to be good value but time will tell if they last. They are doing exactly what they are adavertised to do, good braking, no wheel filth.
Worked fine
Worked great on a 2013 volkswagon passat. I cut off the cable though, as the car doesn't have the sensor/ circuitry for it.
No noise. works well
Was a gift for my father. The car stops so, all is good!
