Adam's Tire Armor - No-Sling, Extremely Long Lasting Tire Dressing - Semi-Permanent, Acrylic Layer Gives Tires a Dressed or New Tire Look (8 oz)

If I could give this a 4.5 I would. I really like the product, unlike some here on Amazon might have you believe.

I truly see this as a very long lasting product that holds up extremely well. It is truly in a class of its own. But here we go;

I am an avid home detailer. I take great pride in keeping my cars in good condition. Especially my own 2017 VW Golf R. I have experience with hundreds of products and have spent more than I care to admit over the years on products. Some with great success and others flat out fails. This product falls squarely in the former.

Prep: here is where I went wrong the first time I used this product. I was in a rush and didn’t properly scrub clean the tire walls with a rubber cleaner or APC diluted to the right strength. I also probably didn’t have time to dry the tire out effectively before application. As a result it was a lackluster result.

The second and subsequent times I have used it I did my prep. Cleaned the tire wall thoroughly with a APC/ wheel & tire cleaner towel dried and let it dry out some more in the sun. Then with an applicator evenly distributed the product over my tire walls. I have a narrow profile on the R at 35 and it went on smoothly and well without buildup like with inferior cheap products. I like that I can choose between a factory ‘new’ look tire and a shinier with extra coats. I usually apply 2 coats and it makes my tires look brand new.

Once on they hold up so well to the elements. I usually wash every week or every 2 weeks and I can go two washes before I reapply. So it gets about a coat once a month I am sure I could go longer if I didn’t clean the car as often. Amazing.

I absolutely love it and will be not purchasing any other products for the foresable future. It requires a little more than I initially thought to get the finish I like but for me, the benefits outweighs the minimal downsides.

Love it, but do your prep and you won’t be disappointed. Attached is a pic, not the best as the sun was setting but gives you a sense of what 1/ 2 coats can give.

I read the previous reviews and the bad reviews with pictures were obviously from someone who did not take their time and clean the tire before applying this product. I used Adam's tire cleaner with a stiff tire brush to clean off a years worth of Adam's VRT before applying this. The cleaning took about 75-90 minutes to clean all 4 tires. VRT has some staying power and it's a little greasy so it took a while to clean off. I followed the application instructions for the Tire Armor and was completely disappointed at first. This stuff is an acrylic clear coat, probably the same stuff you can get at an arts and crafts store. The over spray on my wheels turned yellow almost immediately. It was easy to wipe off since I use a sealer/wax every few months to avoid heavy dirt build up on the wheels. I remedied that by sacrificing one of my large detailing brushes as an application brush for this stuff. I just sprayed it directly into the brush and panted it on, that made it easy to get into the little cracks and details of the tire and landed on 4 coats before I was happy with the results. The first picture is of the water beading after 2.5 weeks and 2 maintenance washes, the second is after using a blower get the bulk of the water off the tire. I use a soft wheel brush to clean the wheels and tires. Tire Armor as stayed in place really well and I'm happy with the end result but getting the tires clean enough was a chore. Take your time and follow the instructions with the exception of spraying it directly on the tire to avoid overspray, just use a brush. Buying Adam's tire cleaner is probably not needed, just use a cheep degreaser like Purple Power. I ran out of Adam's tire cleaner about half way through cleaning my tires and switched to Purple Power and couldn't tell the difference in cleaning efficacy. I knocked off a star due to the overspray problem, I'd give 4.5 if I could.

YOU MUST CLEAN YOUR TIRE! This stuff is amazing. The poor reviews did not use the Adams tire/rubber cleaner and a brush. These are brand new, Commercial BFG 2 tires, and were totally brown with wax from the tire mold. The Adams rubber cleaner is amazing stuff. I usually think that sort of product is a gimmick and dish soap or a degreaser will work as well. Not the case this time. Clean the tire well before applying the product and your results will be as good as mine. And no sling - totally dry to the touch.

Excellent product!!! Be patient during the cleaning process as your finish will only be as good as your prep. Zero sling off and these tires had 1200 miles on them (and were brown AF) prior to applying tire armor. Only thing I would change is them offering a gallon size bottle!!!

Great look and durability, one coat is still going strong after 3 washes. It’s also great that you can manage your gloss levels by deciding how many coats to apply.
