PaceSetter 70-1325 Black Shorty Exhaust

PaceSetter 70-1325 Black Shorty Exhaust Header

Bought these for my '96 REG CAB F250 4X4 which has the 5.8L. They fit perfectly and look fantastic. Performance increase is nominal but they are worth the price just for the looks. A few notes:
1) The black paint burns off pretty quickly because of heat and leaves an ashy residue. Simply wiping them down real good reveals a nice metallic finish, however. 2) Like most headers, you'll need to re-tighten after a few thousand miles as the hardware can sometimes come loose. 3) The right side gasket sprung a leak at about 1500 miles, but that was a quick and easy replacement with another gasket. 4) Lastly, they fit perfectly to the existing Y-pipe and like with item #2 above, you may need to re-tighten after some miles. Since my '96 has all kinds of emissions plugs and tubes, we had to weld in a special plug on the Y-pipe to extend one of the emissions sensors that used to be connected to the old stock manifold.

Finally got around to installing these on my '97 Ford F-250HD pickup. I got them to replace the warped stock manifolds which were causing noisy exhaust leaks. Aside from breaking a stud off in the block, installation was relatively smooth. Truck is now nice & quiet, has a bit more power, and after a year of use the headers are still tight and perfectly functioning.

One caveat was that they came with the wrong gaskets. They were obviously for a different engine, as the port size and spacing were vastly different. No big deal, $10 at a local auto parts store for the correct gaskets solved that issue. Just wish I had checked the gaskets before starting the install so I could avoid the extra trip!

Look good sounds good

Description

Affordably priced PaceSetter Headers are one of the best ways to improve your vehicle's performance and efficiency.
