It's not as effective as a ceramic coating, but given how easily it is to apply it's a good alternative. Make sure your paint is extremely clean before applying (a recent clay bar service would be wise) for best results. I'd say it lasts for about 3-4 hand wash jobs before it should be applied again. Worth the cost since it's much easier to apply than traditional wax/polish products for essentially the same results.
I also used it in a fiberglass shower/bathtub and it did a good job of keeping it clean for a while. Could maybe go an extra week or two before water spots would start to appear again.
I have a Nissan Rogue, and this polish was applied, and ripped of within 15 minutes, total. The shine, and smooth and slippery finish was Fantastic, and I highly recommend it. I originally wanted the F11 polish, but the price eliminated that thought. This Hydrosilex product was the next best choice, and I am VERY glad to have purchased it. You will not be disappointed. It came with 2 microfiber cloths, and that was why I purchased this product. I am very happy I did, and so will you be. It really is FANTASTIC!
I purchased the rewind and recharge and it made a big difference my car shined like the day I bought it and the rain seems to sleek right off the car when it rains of course there will be water marks where the drops don't slide off especially on my rear bumper but over all this product is worth the money.
I purchase this product to compare to with my other product, Car Pro Reload and the new RP 11. Compare this to those two, the Hydrosilex does not have a smell and it leave a very slick finish behind compare to the other two product. Once you spray on the product, it is already hydrophobic on the surface. I think I found my new favorite product!

One of the better detailing products I’ve used. Goes on super easy and you hardly have to wipe it off. Great shine.
