Bosch BC1365 QuietCast Premium Ceramic Disc Brake Pad Set For 2008-2014 Lexus IS F; Front

The Bosch BC1365 are very well made pads. These appear to be ceramic compound pads based on research done. The set is 4 brake pads for the front. Pads are usually sold per axle. These are a perfect fit and an excellent replacement for OEM Lexus IS-F brake pads.

In The Box:
4 brake pads (2 per wheel)
synthetic grease for pad backs and moving parts

Pros:
Similar braking characteristics to stock pads
Very little dusting, no more black wheels
Easy install
Longer life than semi-metallic stock pads
No more brake squeal (semi-metallic stocks were very noisy)

FYI:
Pads take a few stop and goes for full warm-up. Not surprising for a ceramic based pad.

Installation:
Installation on the Lexus IS-F was very straight forward.

1. This car is built low. Place 2x4s under each front tire, then drive up on them so we can get a jack under this thing.
2. You will be placing the base of the jack in front of the oil pan, once you are under the car it becomes quite apparent where the car is to be lifted as the plastic undercarriage is cutout around the front axle support structure. This is what you're using to lift the car, further down is the oil pan, DO NOT PLACE THE JACK ON THE OIL PAN.
3. Lift the car high enough so that both front wheels are a couple inches off the ground so we can pull the wheels off
4. slide jack stands under each side of the car on the pinch welds. Look at the side skirt on the passenger and driver sides, you will notice arrows. Beyond this is where you're placing the stands on the pinch welds.
5. Remove 5 lugs from the wheel, pull the wheel off and set it aside.
6. From the backside of the caliper remove the 13mm nut from the middle of the brake hardware on the middle of the caliper. Pull that bolt out
7. Hammer out the pins on the brake hardware, there are 2. I used a small allen wrench to completely hammer them out.
8. Set the hardware aside and spray it down with brake cleaner, wipe everything down.
9. Use the old pads to push the caliper pistons in completely. I was able to do this by hand, you may need to use a clamp to do this.
10. Remove the old pads
11. Spray your calipers down with brake cleaner, wipe everything clean with a rag.
12. Take your new pads and apply a thin coating of the supplied synthetic grease to both backings, also apply grease to the 2 slide pins.
13. Slide the new pads in, make sure you put the pad with the brake wear indicator on the outside, for future assessment of brake wear.
14. Install 13mm bolt into the middle of the caliper, finger tighten down, then get it snug with a wrench.
15. Slide the upper pin from the back of the caliper through the holes in the pads and out the other side of the caliper towards you.
16. Install the hardware piece which keeps pressure on the pads ensuring they are flush against your rotors.
17. Press down on this piece while installing the other pin again from the backside on the bottom end of caliper.
18. Make sure both pins are completely in place by tapping with a hammer from inside the wheel well on them.
19. Place your wheel back on finger tightening your lugs, and then tightening them down with a lug wrench (re-tighten once the car is on the ground).
20. Apply this same process to the other side.

For brake pad break in I did 10 stops from 40 to 10.

Check out my other reviews of rotors for the Lexus IS-F for a complete walk-through on their installation.

I ordered these rear brake pads for my 2012 Lexus ISF. The OEM brake pads were prone to squeals/brake dust and were quite expensive. I decided to give these a try since I typically use Bosch on my other vehicles. Squeals have disappeared completely, so I can definitely vouch for the fact that multilayer shim protection help. The ISF is notorious for brake squeals so I am quite surprised these cost-conscious brake pads have eliminated the sound altogether. There is a fair amount of brake dust that is generated, but a weekly spray from my pressure washer knocks all the dust away from the wheels.

I had a little problem with the installation of these as there were slight imperfections on the outer edges of the brake pads, which resulted in them being slightly bigger. I had to take a file and remove some excess material from the edges in order to make them fit in the rear brackets.

used on my 2008 lexus is-f. less dust than the oem pads.
