I had these installed on my 2007 Ford Explorer and so far I’m very impressed with them. They seem to dissipate the heat very quickly. I just took my Explorer on a trip through the mountains and there was no brake fade. Even stop and go traffic in 105 degree temps didn’t phase these brakes. I’ll give an update down the road as to their lifespan but I’m sure that’s all depending on the driving habits and load.
This is my third set of Power Stop Rotors and Evolution pads. The first set lasted 100K miles on our Explorer, the second set lasted another 100K on the same truck. Now we have a Mountaineer that has warped rotors at 100K and the Power Stops were my first and only choice. They do reduce brake fade when towing vs the factory setup. They include the anti rattle clips and have the shims already installed on the pads. The pads produce very little dust and do not squeek. Everything I look for in brakes. They are also plated and stay silver unlike regular replacement rotors.
Just put these on so I cannot attest to longevity but initial impression is great. I will be interested to see how the coating on the rotors lasts. It rained last night and there was no surface rust this morning like you would typically see. I replaced the calipers at the same time so quite an improvement really.
Going on second winter in the north. Still not a spec of rust! Stood lifted SUV better then stock. Will be buying this brand from now on. Weird but fun break in procedure.
