4WD Only Approved Performance F15876 - [Front & Rear Kit] Performance Drilled/Slotted Brake Rotors and Carbon Fiber Pads

My husband bought these to replace the brakes and rotors on his 2001 Ford F-150 XLT SuperCrew because the price point was so much better than anything he'd been quoted elsewhere. He said they were easy to install and they've worked great for him.

I installed this set on a 2003 Ford F-150 FX4, 4 door. The difference it made going from stock brake pads and rotors to these pads and rotors is significant. Stopping times are greatly decreased thereby decreasing my likelihood of collision in bumper to bumper traffic in the Washington DC metro area.

These arrived packaged well, as described, and on time . No instructions included but if you have done brakes before there really is no need for them. The rotors appear to be good quality as well as the pads. There didn't appear to be anything coating the rotor to keep them from rusting (they are bagged individually) but we sprayed them down with cleaner anyway. Installation was straight forward with no surprises (I had a friend do them because I am disabled).

The rear rotors weighted the same as the stock rear rotors for my truck. The front rotors were considerably lighter however. I weighed them because with rotors I have always understood that weight translates to durability. The front rotors weigh 4 lbs less each than the stock Ford rotor. Stock was 21 lbs each to 17 lbs each for these. That said I am impressed with the stopping power of these brakes and rotors. They are far better than the stock set were even when they were brand new and I have a lot more confidence in my trucks stopping ability now. Everyone who has one of these F 150's knows the brakes are anemic.

We will see how well they hold up over time. If they don't warp I will be impressed and would recommend them for anyone with one of these older trucks as an improvement over stock, They should run much cooler than the stock rotors with the additional slotting and drilling. The front rotors are vented as well which isn't advertised.

I have had them on my truck now for a while and they did need to be broke in but ... they stop my monster very well. In fact they stop better than my last oem did.. I'm going to get a set for my fusion soon. Love them and no squeaking.

Installed these on my 03 F150 yesterday and followed the bedding procedure and the truck stops some much better and does not pull to one side like it did before.
