Tight fit but worth the install. Originally I had a small rough idling system at stops and finally after about a year the OBD system reported two vacuum leaks in the system. Did some research and found that one cause may be the CCV System cracking at a weak point. I also had a small oil leak from the car which o attributed to the power steering hoses which is common on E46s at this stage in its life. After further investigating under the hood I spotter the leak sourced at the bottom of the VANOS CCV tube and separator pot apparatus connection which was slowly dripping oil all over the block and down onto the power steering hoses. After many hours of removing the intake manifold and other related components (I found this method easier for my larger hands over the alternative method which requires you to snake the new CCV parts through the intake and wires, yuck), I replaced the old leaky CCV system on my ZHP with this cold weather version even though I live in Texas. All items are insulated as a cold weather system should be. Some items fit very tight into their position because of the extra insulation. My hope is that the insulation allows this system to last longer than the previous version since removing the intake manifold is not really that fun to do every couple of years. We occasionally experience some bouts of freezing cold snaps in Texas so the cold weather system does make a little sense here.
When installing this system, I did have an issue with one of the o-rings on the tube that extends from the VANOS to the bottom container/separator (I forget the technical name of it). That o-ring was a bit large so it refused to snap together at that point since the o-ring kept catching and preventing the two parts from clipping together. Also, the tube that extends from the VANOS to the separator is very rigid and even though the necks of this tube are designed to flex, they do not flex much which is important in the area of the system so I was afraid that bending this tube slightly to connect to the separator would cause the tube to crack or break but it did not. Hopefully this is not a weak point in the future with the extra stress that it's under due to its rigidity. Fortunately, I was able to use an old o-ring from the old system and was able to connect the tube and container/separator. I did use the oversized o-ring for the dipstick tube which needs an o-ring when repairing this system and is not provided in the kit so buy one if you get the chance.

Replaced the old CCV with this one a couple weeks ago and everything seems to be holding up pretty well. Good quality for the price. One caveat: do not attach any of the hoses other than the one that twists into place until you are actually installing the thing. I started just fiddling with it to see how things were going to go together before I actually installed it and those hoses are no joke once connected. I ended up having to order another kit because I broke a couple hoses trying to get them apart. That's totally on me though, at least I'm very confident those things are not going to come loose. Interestingly, the two different kits came with different O-rings. I will say it is true that the orange o-rings are too large. If your kit comes with the orange ones, be sure to save the originals from your old hoses. If you get the black ones you should be fine.

Great product and good cold weather insulation really . Only thing is that it’s not exact lengths and bends aren’t either. Big thing to is the gaskets that connect them aren’t the size you need . You must request before buying . MOST IMPORTANT, make sure you have oil dipstick gasket because those are one time use O-rings . Other then that i got things to connect but the way i had to bend the tube going to the top of the oil separator, heat and cold is going to make it break eventually . You can mix and match parts from the original

ordered the cold climate model to replace my CCV. when i went to instal it i had to removed the installation on two of the items in order to have better grasp and room install the parts. i had to also remove the the cover on the valve itself to have it fit in my 2005 325xi. all in all it was a good buy but some of the lines you had to hope you could wiggle a little and hope you didn’t break the lines because the parts weren’t lined up perfectly to be installed.

Everything fit they only hose that require a little bit of effort is the one that connect to the valve cover a little advise is no tighten the mounting bolts of the ccv just started then you get more room to make the hose fit , also move the silicon sleeve toward the valve cover and you shoul be able to bend even more the tube , once is align to the ccv just use the help of a long flat head and will click on place then last conect the tube to the valve cover, all my lean cover got fixed and car performance is increased!

The orange orings are indeed large compared to oem. But with some wd40 and perseverance they do fit and honestly probably seal better.
Installation is a pain but thats not the fault of the product.

Exactly what we needed, if you are buying for a BMW in cold climate, this is the set you wanna get. Very well insulated.

Good item

This is a good kit for the e53. Make sure you remove the front brackets on the intake manifold so you can remove and replace the valve easily. There is no need to remove the intake manifold itself.

Solved my rough idle issue. Would've given it 5 stars but I had to replace some of the O Rings with smaller ones so they'd fit.
