OTC 3180 100 Amp Battery Load

OTC 3180 100 Amp Battery Load Tester

OTC 3180 100 Amp Battery Load Tester

If you quickly want to know if a battery is good or not, this is a great tool to have in your inventory, and not expensive. It's not super-accurate, but when you're looking for a simple "Yes or No,", it's fine.
ProTip: DO NOT LEAVE IT ON FOR MORE THAN THE RECOMMENDED TIME PRINTED ON THE DEVICE. I think it's 15-seconds but even that is a long time. You're essentially holding a really hot toaster. A quick on-read the display-off will suffice.

Used my last one for 20 years until it broke when my car trunk was hit in a rear end accident! Old school analog version works well and is inexpensive. Internal ceramic supports for heat/load coil are fragile so this unit does not survive well after a drop or hit.

Told me what I already feared that my car battery has outlived its useful life. Tool is easy to use and easy to read the gauge. Will be using this on all my vehicles as the batteries age.

OTC was one of my tools of choice. Now this is made overseas. Quality to be determined so far so good but longevity is very it counts. Minus a star for overseas production.

Simple, dependable tester. Easy to use and easy to understand results. Works with both 6 & 12 volt batteries. Quality metal switch to engage test load. Finish on unit is top notch, and looks really nice. Rubber coated carry handle. Good, heavy duty battery clamps, with a good rubber coating on the grips. Can't be beat for the price.

Only used it once so far but it worked as advertised. Did not get excessively hot and seemed to be pretty accurate. I checked the voltmeter scale against my DVM and it was just about spot on.

Was exactly what I was looking for. Metal body and load switch. These meters heat up quite a bit when under load. It will get as hot as a toaster. All the other low priced meters had plastic bodies and or switches. I also prefer analog. It may be off a % but I rather see a needle on a scale than glowing #"s.

I'm a heavy equipment mechanic and its great to keep one of these toaster style battery/load testers on my work truck. I've been using this one everyday for the last couple weeks and it works great!

Gets the job done. Don't need nothing fancy to check a battery, if testing more then 2 batteries let it cool off a minute. I was testing all 4 on my semi and no problems

I haven’t used my tester yet, but a professional diesel mechanic I know used it on my tractor. I was having electric issues with the tractor and he showed me how to use it . Amazing and I ordered this one as it was identical to his.
