Power Stop K690 Front Brake Kit with Drilled/Slotted Brake Rotors and Z23 Evolution Ceramic Brake Pads

Great little kit, glad I bought it. Installed easily, seems durable enough, but you can tell it's not top of the line. I don't anticipate it falling apart or anything, but it is clearly not high-end milled materials like from performance companies or luxury brands.

Definitely want to wash the rotors with dish soap before installing them as you can feel the coating they have on it to prevent oxidation. It rinsed off easily, however, and I only had to give it a cursory drying with a towel before installing it.

Each rotor is also labelled so there's no confusion as to which side to install which rotor.

Also, the brake pads come with a small amount of lubricant but it is just barely enough if you squeeze it all out. I would recommend purchasing a small tube of it as well, will also make applying the lubricant easier than dealing with the little packet they provide you with.

This combination works surprisingly well together. While not an aggressive brake pad, they provide confident stops and VERY little brake dust. The rotors still look very good after 14 months and 7,000 miles on my daily driver as shown in the photo. The protective coating has prevented any rust on the visible part of the rotor hat even after exposure to plenty of road salt this past winter. The ceramic brake pads have plenty of life left and have not caused any rotor scoring even with my spirited driving.

No problems installing or with first 5K worth of use. They stop better and quieter than the stock brakes. Not very expensive. Tricky part is the break in... you need an abandoned road and an easy u-turn spot to do it right. They explain it very well in the instructions. Hopefully, I won’t need to buy them again, but I will be buying a set for my other vehicle when it is in need of brakes. Well worth the investment.

I never really do reviews unless I really like, or really hate a product. In this case, these brakes are outstanding. I used to have stock rotors & pads and they kept warping and caused awful pedal pulsation. I even resurfaced the rotors twice and still they kept warping, and it got to the point where it was getting dangerous to try and stop my car. So I figured I'd give these slotted & drilled rotors a shot, I had also found them on summit and rock auto, but amazon had the best price for them and free 2 day shipping. These brakes work flawlessly on my car and I can stop way better now. I also have no pedal pulse whatsoever. I highly recommend these brakes, you'll never want to go with a different brand ever again.

I'd been going through a set of regular flat brake rotors about every 30k miles on my 2005 Honda Civic LX 4-door (with noticeable highway-speed shake as early as 15k miles), so I decided to give these a try. TOTALLY worth the cost; has completely solved my problem, and the entire set is impressively well-made (especially for the price!).

I've had these for close to a year now and am actually planning to replacement the rear pads and rotors on my car as well with the Power Stop slotted brakes.

They arrived on time and the mechanic I used was surprised that I had chosen slotted rotors as they aren't typically used on cars like mine. He said I made a great choice. To note, I had problems with my precious (manufacture) rotors. They kept warping due to uneven heaingt and the pads had to be constantly replaced or shaved down. At one point they almost caused an accident! At that point I said enough, as well as a few other words to the Honda mechanic, when he said they were fine and they would just resurface them...AGAIN!

Anyway, I consulted a friend and he mentioned that he used Power Stop breaks and rotors and highly recommended them. So I did some research and purchased them. I haven't had problems with my front brakes since then.

This is a great deal. I put these on a 2002 Honda Civic that was shaking terribly when you hit brakes. I knew it needed rotors and pads. I called around to the local auto parts stores and this was by far the best deal. I got an even better deal because I bought an "open box item" on Amazon and it showed up flawless. I feel like I stole these pads and rotors honestly.

It's been about 3 months and there have been no issues. This is a great kit and I highly recommend this. Also, I did the brakes myself, I have experience doing brakes so I thought it was easy. But if you don't know how to do the brakes try it out YouTube the directions, save some money.

I don't know about the brake pads, but the rotors are great. I Installed the rotors 1.5 years ago, and They have been wonderful. They stop much more quickly than the stock rotors, and do not show any signs of warping even with my somewhat heavy-footed driving style. I shopped around when I bought them, and they were very well priced, they have been an excellent value.

Installation is fairly easy as well:

1. with car parked on level ground, emergency brake locked, and transmission in park, break loose lugnuts on front wheels.

2. Jack car up and place on jack stands.

3. remove lugnuts and tires.

4. Remove bolts holding calipers onto wheel hub, and carefully hang them from shock springs so that there is no tension on the brake lines.

5. use an impact driver to loosen phillips screws holding the rotor to the hub. (inexpensive manual drivers can be purchased for around 10$ at most autoparts stores)

6. use a rubber mallet to tap the edge of the rotor to break it free.

7. Clean any dirt that may have found its way into the caliper or hub.

8. install rotor and reverse steps for reassembly.

Bought these for my 2001 Honda Civic. Fits perfectly. Great product.

Comment for people installing them yourself, which I did. I watched a few videos on youtube, and many of them talk about the difficulty of removing the brake rotor on old Civics. Many of them show people hammering at it, or breaking their impact screwdriver heads. My simple solution was to use my impact driver drill. More torque than those screwdrivers and no beating on the rotors needed. If you watch some of those videos you know what I am talking about. Hope that helps anyone trying it on their own.

Product fit perfect. 2000 civic ex. Well one side did but it's not because of the product. Si and ex have the same rotor size, lower models of civics are smaller. One side fit and one didnt. I guess previous owner replaced the driver side with an dx knuckle/spindle.
