When joining a 4x4 (actually a 3 1/2" x 3 1/2") to another 4x4 or to any "2 by" wood this allows for 1 1/2" of holding power. I wish it were not so expensive....but a good product.
If anyone is building a skateboard ramp and or halfpipe these are the screws. Hands down the best you can get for your expensive surface layer. If your using masonite then have fun with your razr scooter, these aren't for you. I used gatorskins (similar but better than sk8lite and ramp armor) and if you ever worked with the stuff you'll know its heavy as f***. Dont skimp here posers. These are the screws. You'll thank me later. Oh..and you're gonna need more than you thought. I'm up to around 40lbs for just the surface on a 6foot high 34 food wide halfpipe.
High quality screws, nothing much to say about them. I bought two pounds in two different sizes.

Wow! These suckers are STRONG and LONG. I had some 4 inch screws pulling out of my deck boards. I replaced them with these - my deck is good as new.....
