This item is worth way more than $12, dont listen to the idiots who give it a one star because its not as good as the $100 3m product. its not a 100 dollar product, the quality is way better than expected, used it to clean my trashed headlights, used Mother's mag and aluminum polish and in about 15 minutes with a drill both headlights are like new, used the orange one first then finished with the black, washed them and have more use out of them, they show no wear. I would buy it again but don't have to because they are still in great shape and my headlights on my 04 were terrible.
These are as advertised. I would like to see some labeling so it's obvious what level of polishing you get with each pad color. I had to look it up online.
I was finally able to use these pads a few weeks ago. They worked as well as I hoped. I have an older random orbital sander that I cleaned and attached these pads to. It was my first time cutting and buffing a car so most of my learning was on how to properly apply the rubbing compound or polish to avoid splattering it all over the place. Once I had that pretty well under control things went well. It is still quite a job, but I couldn't imagine trying to do the job by hand. I used the orange and red pads as my rubbing compound wasn't very coarse. The sponges did a good job cutting into the clear coat. I used the black pad to apply my wax and the white buffing pad to buff it, which I will probably do by hand in the future. You really need a few buffing pads to buff an entire car (mine is a CX-5) to get it to look nice and shiny. I had to go over most of the car with a buffing towel to get the look I was going for. So, I will buff by hand in the future.
I took a bit of a gamble here, I have a 7" variable speed harbor freight polisher but frustratingly they do not sell 7" pads for it.
The HF has a standard 5/8" arbor - but the backer pad that comes with this does not. However the velcro in this set adheres to the backer pad that came with the HF, so it's all good. I'll keep this new backer pad and the stud that came with it in case I ever want to use these with a drill.

Works better than expected. Large pads get job done quickly. I use it to clean a large shower. I use a battery battery operated drill. Seems excessive? Nope. It's done quickly and leaves the large shower cleaner than ever. I've also used it to wash my car in same manner. Soft pads do not harm shower or car finish. Use appropriate cleaner and car wash. Wheeeeeeeee

I have been pleasantly surprised with the quality of this set. So far the foam pads have been just as reliably tough as more expensive ones (after all, foam is foam) and the backing plate, although perhaps a little less flexible than competitors that cost as much as ten times more (3M) is nicely made and very, very durable.
(Comment is edited due to new knowledge but figured id leave the original 1 star reply for those in the same boat as i was) Not to sure if they have been vacuum sealed in the bags they come in or something but they look absolutely nothing like the pictures and are incredibly thin. Not to sure I'll be using these since i don't want to hurt the paint on a customer's car. The wool pad was and the base were the only things that looked close to what was advertised. (Revision) after i remembered those little foam animals i collected when i was little i figured id try soaking one in warm water after several hours of the pads staying flat and it in fact worked my only complaint is the wool pad isn't too rugged. As well as there is no instruction as to the grade of each pad. Other than that it's worth the short change it costs
These wax sponges work very good, and didn’t tear on me like most reviews mentioned. I am down to the the blue and black sponges. I’ve used all the other sponges about 10 times before they finally gave out on me(excluding the wool one). You have to make sure you clean them after each use with warm water and dish soap, and spray the sponge to keep it moisturized as you wax. They get the job done! I would buy these again.
They help you polish stuff. They're decently made. The "wool" pad does throw off some fuss if you try to use your drill at high speed but all in alla decently made product
It works very well with one exception , it is difficult to keep tight with and high speed application. The screw on style is fine but a locking mechanism would put the icing on the cake.
